Dr. Tao specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common, complex, and rare diseases in otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery.
Clinical Focus:
1. Nasal Diseases:
– Includes various types of rhinitis, acute and chronic sinusitis, deviated nasal septum, and nasal/paranasal sinus tumors.
– Over 10 years of clinical experience in treating allergic rhinitis.
– Proficient in endoscopic nasal and nasopharyngeal surgeries.

2. Throat Diseases:
– Includes acute and chronic tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, sleep disorders (snoring), nasopharyngeal diseases, pharyngeal tumors, acute and chronic pharyngitis, vocal cord nodules, and polyps.
– Skilled in laryngoscopic tumor resection, tonsillectomy, and adenoidectomy.

3. Ear Diseases:
– Includes acute and chronic otitis media, external otitis, secretory otitis media, cerumen impaction, hearing loss, vertigo, and tinnitus.
– Proficient in ear canal irrigation, tympanocentesis, tympanostomy tube placement, and Epley maneuver for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).

4. Head and Neck Diseases:
– Includes neck masses and thyroid tumors.
– Skilled in excision of superficial neck masses and thyroid tumor resection.

Education Background：

• Completed a 7-year combined Bachelor’s and Master’s program at Nanjing Medical University, earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Medicine.
• Earned a Ph.D. in Otorhinolaryngology from Naval Medical University.

Working Experience：

Completed residency training and worked at Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, accumulating over 10 years of experience in a top-tier hospital, with extensive clinical practice in common and complex otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery cases.

Joined Shanghai United Family Hospital Jing’an Campus in 2025.

Academic Achievement：

• Published multiple first-author papers in journals such as *Chinese Journal of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery*, *China Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery*, *Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy*, *Lipids in Health and Disease*, and *Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology*.
• Participated in several projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
• Skilled in summarizing clinical cases; authored clinical cases selected for the China Clinical Case Database for two consecutive years.
• Designed multiple utility model patents over the years.
